Prior to G8 Summit (From June 30th), G8 Media Network will set up three media centers in Sapporo City with broadband capabilities. Those who pre-registered can use for free the internet facilities and computer terminals for the media activity. Also, there will be media spots available for the pre-registrees at the campsites near Lake Toya. For those who want to move from media centers to the campsites, or vice versa, Media Bus will be available , a bus that makes a daily round trip from Media Centers in Sapporo City via the campsites back to the City.

Equipment: 2 personal computers for registrants (OS corresponds to each language with Ubuntu)
Condition of use: interview for pre-conference, free space can be used freely, other area needs pre-registration to use
Media Centre Tenjinyama
Address: Sapporo Tenjinyama Kokusai House, 17-1-80, 2-jo, Hiragishi, Toyohira-ku, Sapporo-shi
Access: 10 minutes walk from Sumikawa station, Nanboku subway line
Opening period: June 30th-July 10th
Opening hour of the free space: 9am-7pm
Space for pre-registrant: Available 24hours
Purpose for use: Room for text editing, Radio Studio, Workshop, Film Festival, Pre-conference (July 6th), Free Space

Media Centre Nishi 18-choume

Campsites near Toyako
Toyoura-chō Shinrin-kouen (Toyoura Forest Park)

Directions: Media buses are planned to run to the site from the Media Center in Sapporo.

Bus services
From Sapporo to campsites in Lake Toya area; a round-trip bus service is provided daily from July 6th through 9th. Fare: One-way costs 1500 yen. (Public transportation will cost more than 5000 yen.)
※The 3 Media Centers in Sapporo will offer free computer access for those registered in advance. (Occupancy for an extended period of time is not allowed.)
※Participants are asked to bring their own reportorial and editing equipment such as video cameras, cameras, voice recorders, and computers.
※Arrangements can be made if there are problems in bringing equipment to the sites.
※Vegan dishes are planned to be served at certain Media Centers.
※English-Japanese interpreters are planned to be provided at each facility.
※We can give you alternative information on accommodations within Hokkaido.
